Quality Policy Statement - UNI EN ISO 9001:2000
The Executive Board acknowledges that the office furniture market, which has become increasingly global and more competitive, imposes obligations of excellence in relation to quality on the organisation if it wishes to continue to expand. The Executive Board guarantees that the quality policy: 1. is appropriate to the goals of the organisation; 2. includes a commitment to continuous improvement; 3. is properly illustrated at the various levels of pertinence and is understood by the latter; 4. is reassessed in order to maintain its appropriateness. Planning Quality Objectives The Executive Board undertakes to promote, develop and support all the activities necessary for the attainment of its quality objectives, more specifically: 1. Client (external and internal) satisfaction through: - suitability and conformity of the product in relation to requirements - competitive services and prices - speed and punctuality of delivery. 2. Reduction in non-conformities. 3. Reduction in non-quality costs. 4. Increase in market share and in qualitative leadership through improvement activity. 5. Technological improvement of design. 6. Conformation of the quality system to the rules laid down by UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 norms.
In order to reach the objectives set out by the company’s quality policy, the following actions have been agreed upon:
1. Establishment and formalisation of a quality guarantee system in accordance with norm UNI EN ISO 9001:2000, which is recognised in the European and international context, and establishment of the quality guarantee role directly under the General Management, with the aim of guaranteeing the organisation and the operation of the programme. 2. Drafting a quality guarantee manual with a description of the business management system adopted and the standards of organisational, procedural and operational reference in accordance with norm UNI EN ISO 9001:2000. 3. Involvement of all company personnel so that each member of staff commits him or herself with diligence and seriousness and in accordance with his or her particular skills and responsibilities. 4. Constant monitoring of the degree of conformity of the system to the norm in question. 5. Keeping a constant check on the technological development and the quality of internal and external processes, with the aim of ensuring that the design techniques, materials, means of production, control and inspection methods adopted always correspond to maximum levels of quality. 6. Improvement in internal production quality both in respect of production efficiency (timeliness of outgoing lots) and with regard to the rationalisation of costs (less waste and loss). 7. Improvement in external production quality (suppliers), by promoting and disseminating a mindset of continuous improvement among suppliers. 8. Observance of norms related to the environment and to health and safety in the workplace. 9. Promotion and implementation of training programmes for staff at all levels, with the aim of optimising the process of growth of human resources, which are considered as crucial resources for the company’s development in the years to come. With regard to all the above, the Management undertakes to play an active part in the promotion and guidance of all those activities that have an impact on quality through the dissemination to all levels of the concepts expounded in this statement and the inspection of the results obtained.
Policy FSC - FSC STD 40-004 The Executive Board, in accordance with the criteria for good forest management, shares in the ten principles underlying the FSC standard: 1. Respect for national laws and international agreements 2. Safeguarding of the rights of ownership and use of forest resources 3. Recognition and safeguarding of the rights of indigenous peoples 4. Observance of workers’ rights and respect for the welfare of local communities 5. Efficient use of products and services from forests 6. Environmental impacts: preservation of biodiversity, landscape 7. Implementation of a forest management plan 8. Monitoring / assessment of forests and management 9. Safeguarding of forests of great environmental value 10. Management of plantations (impacts on the natural environment) and takes responsibility for: • achieving and maintaining Chain of Custody certification over time, with the aim of guaranteeing the origin of wood, by means of traceability, from the bill of sale of the certified product to the bill of purchase of the raw material used; • checking declarations made by suppliers in the FSC certification for purchased particleboard and MDF. To this end it has adopted and implemented a system in accordance with the FSC STD 40-004 standard and provided training for all personnel involved in those activities which guarantee the traceability of FSC material.
Policy for Health and Safety in the Workplace - OHSAS 18001:2007
In carrying out its business, Las Mobili Srl, undertakes to: 1. Prevent professional injuries and diseases 2. Constantly improve the system of occupational health and safety management and the results obtained 3. Comply with the applicable legislation in relation to health and safety in the workplace, with the regulations in force and with the other requisites endorsed by the company; 4. Pursue a constant improvement policy aimed at reducing the risks of diseases and accidents in the workplace; 5. Involve its employees in such a way that it is clear that the management of OHS concerns the entire company organisation, from the employer to each individual employee, each according to his or her own competence and expertise.
To this end the Las Mobili Srl company, after having carried out an in-depth initial Risk Assessment of its production activities, has identified the following priority areas of intervention: a. Renewal of machinery, aimed at increasing workers’ efficiency and safety b. Investment of internal and external resources in the training of company personnel, with particular regard for specific risks and for planning for emergencies. c. Monitoring and surveillance of workplaces and has set itself the following objectives: 1. To maintain a Health and Safety Management System (OH&S) by satisfying all the requirements contained in OHSAS 18001:2007 and by applying where possible integrative models with the Quality and Environmental System; 2. To communicate its Occupational Health and Safety Policy and Objectives to its staff at every level and in a clear manner, with the intention that its staff may be made aware of their individual obligations and of the effects of Occupational Health and Safety management on the quality of their workplace; 3. To involve workers additionally through their Safety Representatives; 4. To ensure Cooperation and Collaboration with the public authorities; 5. To keep residual risks under control and implement actions for improvement 6. To adopt necessary measures to reduce the risks connected to emergency situations; 7. To review its policy from time to time in order to ensure that it is still consistent and appropriate to its needs, also in the case of legislative changes, and to make it available to interested parties; 8. To implement an information and training programme for its employees in order that they may carry out their duties safely; 9. To provide necessary human and instrumental resources; 10. To consider Occupational Health and Safety and its relative results as an integral part of the company’s management; 11. To decrease the gravity rate and frequency of accidents.
Policy for Social Responsibility - SA 8000
In its continuous search for excellence of performance, Las Mobili srl has resolved to adhere to the outline of international norm SA 8000, in order to guarantee the correct management of social responsibility for its activities.
With regard to this it undertakes to: 1. comply with all the requirements of norm SA 8000 2. comply with national laws and other laws in force and to observe international documents relating to social aspects 3. guarantee its commitment to continuous improvement 4. not use child labour 5. guarantee the right to collective bargaining and not to discriminate against staff representatives.
The company also undertakes not to practise discrimination in relation to: a. recruitment, pay, access to training, promotion, dismissal and/or retirement b. race, class, origin, religion, disability, sex, age, sexual orientation, membership of a trade union or political affiliation The company undertakes not to tolerate behaviour, including gestures, language or physical contact, which is sexually coercive, threatening, offensive or targeted at exploitation. The company pledges that its workers and their trade-union representatives shall be free to lodge complaints without any threat of negative repercussions on them. Furthermore, LAS Mobili is committed to making this policy accessible in comprehensible form to all its personnel and making it available to the general public. |
